Q: When was the Classroom of Discovery established?
A: The Classroom of Discovery, a not-for-profit preschool, was established in 2002 by Sheri Brown.

Q: How many children are in the school?
A: We have a total of 20 students in our preschool program (10 children and 2 teachers in a classroom) and can accommodate up to 8 students in our Bridge to Discovery Adult and Tot Class.

Q: Does my child need to be potty trained before beginning your preschool program?
A: No!

Q: Is your preschool NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited?
A: YES!!!

Q: Do your teachers hold degrees in education?
A: Our two lead teachers hold Master’s degrees in education and have a combined 20+ years of teaching experience in the field of early childhood education.

Q: Are you a state licensed preschool program?
A: Yes, we are licensed through the Virginia State Department of Social Services.

Q: Are your teachers screened?

A: Yes. Every three years, our teachers are required to complete a new criminal background check and a Virginia Department of Social Services/Child Protective Services Central Registry check.

Q: What health and safety training do your teachers have?

A: All of our teachers are trained in CPR, first aide, and blood borne pathogens. One teacher has MAT training, which is required to dispense medicine or administer an Epipen.
